Legal validity of the electronic signature
The eIDAS Regulation (EU 910/2014) establishes that an electronic signature shall not be denied legal effect solely because it is electronic (art. 25). The value of a contract signed online rests on the quality of its evidence: which document was signed, by whom, how they identified themselves and when. That is why every process produces an Evidence Record with timestamps, sealed by two qualified trust service providers (Mensatek and the FNMT) and kept in custody for 10 years.
Practical advice
Match the signature level to the contract's risk: a work order does not need the same as a loan. Combining OTP with identity verification covers the vast majority of demanding processes without adding unnecessary friction to the rest.
About online contracting
Is the electronic signature legally valid?
Yes: the eIDAS Regulation forbids denying it legal effect for being electronic (art. 25) and Spanish Act 6/2020 governs its use in Spain. The strength of the proof comes from the process evidence, recorded and sealed here by a Trust Service Provider.
How much does signing a contract cost?
The basic contract costs 14 credits: between €0.41 and €0.60 depending on the pack. Additional levels (OTP, identity verification…) add their credits; the detail is on the pricing page.
What does the signer need?
Just to open the link they receive by SMS, email or WhatsApp, in any phone or computer browser. No apps, no accounts and no certificates unless your process requires that level.
Can people sign in person, at my office or shop?
Yes: open the process on a tablet or screen and let the client sign by hand in front of you, with the same sealed evidence as at a distance.
What do I get at the end?
The signed, sealed document plus its Evidence Record, downloadable immediately and kept in your account for 10 years, verifiable by third parties with its code.
